New “Find a Court Date” feature on the UJS homepage allows the public to search for hearing dates without visiting the courthouse
PIERRE, SD – A new feature on the Unified Judicial System’s homepage will now allow South Dakotans to search for upcoming criminal and civil hearings that are open to the public. Allowing internet searches for hearing dates will not only increase convenience for the public, but also allow for greater transparency and engagement with the justice system.
Users can access the new feature through the eServices tab or under the eServices drop down menu by searching with either the case number or the party information.
To search by party information, the subject’s date of birth and at least three letters of their first and last name is required. If searching by case number, no additional information is needed. Once the record has been located, the public will be able to view the future hearing dates, times, and charges associated with that case.
