Pennington County DUI Court to Hold Graduation Ceremony
PIERRE, S.D.—Pennington County DUI Court will hold a graduation ceremony to honor participants’ achievements on Wednesday, Feb. 7, 2024, at 10 a.m. MST at the Pennington County Administration Building in Rapid City.
The graduation ceremony is evidence of the tremendous impact that DUI court has on the community. The graduation is open to the public, as well as family and friends of the participants. It is also open to the media and cameras, with interviews available upon request.
The graduation will be held in the Pennington County Commission Chambers located on the bottom floor of the Pennington County Administration Building, 130 Kansas City St., Rapid City. Use the second level public entrance on the south side of the building along Kansas City Street, turn left and go down the stairs. The Commission Chambers are at the bottom of the staircase.
The ceremony will also be streamed live online at www.sd.net/UJSCourt2 for those who cannot attend in person.
Pennington County DUI Court was established in 2013 as an alternative to prison for justice-involved persons dealing with substance use and mental health disorders who are at a high likelihood to reoffend. For the last 10 years, Pennington County DUI Court has offered intensive supervision, treatment for substance use and mental health, support services and community-based resources to improve the overall wellbeing of the participants involved in the program.
