Certified Mental Illness Trained Court-Appointed Defense Attorney Directory
As mandated in SDCL 23A-40-21, each court-appointed defense attorney shall receive training on mental illness, available mental health services, eligibility criteria and referral processes, and forensic evaluations. The training can be completed at https://ujsmil.sd.gov. Upon completion of the training, the attorney's name is added to the list of certified court-appointed defense attorneys.
