Chief Justice Jensen to Present State of the Judiciary
PIERRE, S.D.— On Wednesday, Jan. 10, 2024, South Dakota Supreme Court Chief Justice Steven R. Jensen will deliver the 2024 State of the Judiciary.
Chief Justice Jensen will discuss indigent legal defense, barriers for emerging adults, problem-solving courts, the bar admission study, courthouse and judicial security, and the Unified Judicial System’s budget.
The State of the Judiciary will take place at 11 a.m. CST in the South Dakota House of Representatives in the State Capitol in Pierre. The address will be livestreamed on South Dakota Public Broadcasting and SD.net.

About South Dakota Courts: The Unified Judicial System (UJS) consists of the Supreme Court, Circuit Courts and State Court Administrator’s Office. The Supreme Court is the state’s highest court and final decision maker on South Dakota law.
