Chief Justice to Deliver 2022 State of the Judiciary Message to the Legislature
Chief Justice Steven R. Jensen of the South Dakota Supreme Court will deliver his State of the Judiciary Message to a joint session of the Legislature on January 12, 2022, beginning at 1:30 p.m. Chief Justice Jensen was appointed to the Supreme Court in November of 2017 by Governor Dennis Daugaard. He was selected by the members of the Supreme Court for the position of Chief Justice beginning in January of 2021. This will be Chief Justice Jensen’s second State of the Judiciary Message. The State of the Judiciary Message will focus on those issues that have impacted the judiciary during the last year and the goals of the Unified Judicial System moving forward.
