Committee on Judicial Elections Issues Opinion on Campaign Conduct on Aug. 12, 2022

The Special Committee on Judicial Election Campaign Intervention has issued formal opinion 22-01 addressing judicial election campaign conduct concerning a judicial candidate’s knowledge of who contributed to their campaign and the amount. That opinion, as well as information related to judicial elections and the Special Committee’s work, can be found on the Unified Judicial System’s webpage at https://ujs.sd.gov/Default.aspx

The Special Committee is a non-partisan group appointed by the Supreme Court dedicated to preserving the integrity and impartiality of this state’s judicial system by issuing advisory opinions and responding to complaints related to judicial campaign activities.  The Special Committee includes the following members:
