Magistrate Bob Pesall New Third Circuit Magistrate Judge

(Brookings, SD) - The Honorable Gregory J. Stoltenburg, Presiding Judge for the Third Judicial Circuit, is pleased to announce that the South Dakota Supreme Court has approved the appointment of N. Bob Pesall as the new full-time magistrate judge for the Third Judicial Circuit.  He will start his magistrate duties on Tuesday, April 19, 2022.  The Third Judicial Circuit includes the counties of Beadle, Brookings, Clark, Codington, Deuel, Grant, Hamlin, Hand, Jerauld, Kingsbury, Lake, Miner, Moody and Sanborn.  

Judge Pesall is a graduate of South Dakota State University, and the University of South Dakota School of Law. He formed the Pesall Law Firm in Flandreau, South Dakota in January of 2007.  Prior to founding the Pesall Law Firm, Bob practiced primarily in western North Dakota, at one of the oldest law firms in the state.  However, Bob’s roots in South Dakota run deep.  His family homesteaded in the region in 1882, seven years before statehood.  Mr. Pesall has been active in various community organizations and served on the Flandreau City Council from May 2014 until his appointment to the bench.
