Brookings County Treatment Court to Hold Graduation on July 17

PIERRE, S.D.—Brookings County Treatment Court will hold a graduation ceremony on Thursday, July 17, 2025, at 10 a.m. CDT in the third-floor courtroom at the Brookings County Courthouse, 314 Sixth Ave, Brookings.

The graduation ceremony is evidence of the tremendous impact Brookings County Treatment Court has had on its community. With their friends and family in attendance, participants who have successfully completed all phases of this drug and DUI court program will be honored. The event is open to the public and media. A light reception will follow. 

Treatment courts are an effective strategy for treating substance use and mental health disorders while reducing recidivism and saving taxpayer dollars. These courts have proven that a combination of supervision, treatment and support can lead people with substance use and/or mental health disorders into lives of stability, wellness and recovery. 

Brookings County Treatment Court is a court-managed, alcohol/drug intervention treatment program, designed to provide a cost-effective alternative to traditional criminal case processing. The Court’s mission it to enhance public safety with the goal of developing sober, productive, law-abiding citizens by holding participants accountable while providing supervision, treatment and life skills in a judicial setting.
