Brown County Drug & DUI Court to Hold Graduation on May 28
PIERRE, S.D.—Brown County Drug & DUI Court will hold a graduation ceremony on Thursday, May 28, 2026, at 1:30 p.m. CDT in the Third Floor Courtroom at the Brown County Courthouse, 101 First Ave. SE, Aberdeen.
This milestone represents the treatment court graduates’ dedication, perseverance and commitment to making positive changes in their lives. With their friends and family in attendance, participants who have successfully completed all phases of this treatment court program will be honored. Each graduate will have someone speak on their behalf. The event is open to the public and media.
Treatment courts are an effective strategy for treating substance use and mental health disorders while reducing recidivism and saving taxpayer dollars. These courts have proven that a combination of supervision, treatment and support can lead people with substance use and/or mental health disorders into lives of stability, wellness and recovery.
Treatment court provides participants with structure, support and accountability as they work toward long-term recovery and stability. Each graduate’s success reflects not only their own determination, but also the strength of community partnerships and support networks.
May is National Treatment Court Month and the perfect time to share the many ways treatment courts are making a positive impact on their communities. Learn more about South Dakota’s treatment courts.
