PIERRE, S.D.—Brown County Treatment Court will hold a graduation ceremony on Thursday, Aug. 28, 2025, at 1:30 p.m. CDT in the Brown County Community Room in the basement of the Brown County Offices, 25 Market St., Aberdeen.
This milestone represents the treatment court graduates’ dedication, perseverance and commitment to making positive changes in their lives. With their friends and family in attendance, participants who have successfully completed all phases of this treatment court program will be honored. Each graduate will have someone speak on their behalf.
The event is open to the public and media. Following the ceremony, guests are invited to join the graduates, their families and the treatment court team for light refreshments.
Treatment courts are an effective strategy for treating substance use and mental health disorders while reducing recidivism and saving taxpayer dollars. These courts have proven that a combination of supervision, treatment and support can lead people with substance use and/or mental health disorders into lives of stability, wellness and recovery.
Treatment court provides participants with structure, support and accountability as they work toward long-term recovery and stability. Each graduate’s success reflects not only their own determination, but also the strength of community partnerships and support networks.
